After Bill Daggett lost the ability to carve his beloved sculptures due to Parkinson’s disease, his neurologist, Holly Shill, MD, refused to give up. Instead, she offered another solution—deep brain stimulation (DBS) with neurosurgeon Francisco Ponce, MD. The DBS surgery did so much more for Bill than get him back to sculpting; it gave him an entirely new lease on life.
“In the 56 years we’ve been married, I’d never seen my husband more down and discouraged. But now, he has light in his eyes again,” says Bill’s wife, Jennifer.
